Last I read (maybe about a month ago) the porn industry was backing HD-DVD with one company releasing a couple of HD-DVDs within the next month. The supposed reason was because the BDA or Sony would not replicate porn movies. Maybe this changed?

My parents held on to BETA as the format of choice many years beyonds its death. My dad claimed that we had to have BETA to watch hospital videos of heart sonigrams and that it was a superior format. My Dad always claimed things were superior even if they were not (like brick-blocks vs. LEGO).

Just like my stretch marks, I like the imperfections in my porn. However, I am not going to drop the dollar for new DVD-HD technology).

We won't have tangible ownership of media much longer. It will all be digital.

Porn is quite the media driver. The internet would not be quite the juggernaut it is today (it might be later) if it weren't for porn.

There was an article in The New York Times a month ago about porn's jump into the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD battle addressing just this topic. It also raised the "scary thought" issue as apparently quite a number of pornstars are going back to their plastic surgeons to get all sorts of body work done after seeing all the details high definition pictures expose. This takes "What color is it? Is it sore to touch?" to a whole new level! Eeeeeeeeeew!

I, for one, think Blu-Ray should be the way to go, not because I want to go buy some high definition porn, but because those discs hold more data. And Blu-Ray just sounds cooler. Plus, I thought Betamax should have won that war back in the 80's, too. They had better picture quality, and the tapes were smaller. Sony doesn't get enough kudos for the innovations they create.
